 Vehicles

TransportGiant offers an incredible number and variety of all kinds of transport vehicles. From bullock carts and horse-and-carts – with horses of various breeds to choose from – to trucks (with trailers, without trailers or semi-trailer trucks), trains (steam engines, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and high-speed trains), ships (from sailing ships to modern motorized ships), airplanes and helicopters to such strange vehicles as zeppelins or ultra-modern monorails and superconductor trains.

Bullock carts and horse-and-carts

Naturally you won't be able to use airplanes in, say, 1850. The availability of vehicles is determined by historical context. E.g., you won't be able to swap your cherished horses for the first trucks before the turn of the century. And just as in real life, for most gamers the era of steam engines will slowly come to an end from the second half of the 20th century.

Horse trains

But the historical parallels do not end with the dates of emergence. The intended purposes of our vehicles and objects have also been modeled on real life. For example, using a freight locomotive to transport passengers isn't a great idea.

European trucks

Alas, no vehicle will work forever. A wise haulage contractor will therefore provide for the repair and service of their vehicles. It is not always easy to recoup these expenses, in particular for those who are only just setting up their business. Not all vehicles have the same maintenance requirements, and the costs of repairs can differ greatly as well. So you will often have to consider which vehicle is best suited to your purpose.

European trucks with trailers

For a haulage contractor's business to thrive, they must understand which vehicles are best employed for a particular purpose at a particular time. That is to say, it might not always be the best policy to exchange all your old vehicles for new ones as soon as a more modern vehicle is brought on the market.

European semi-trailers

All of this sounds rather complicated? Don't worry: We have built in various difficulty levels - so it's up to you whether you want to concern yourself with things like this or not.
